Message from the Team Captain
The March of Dimes has changed the name of its biggest event to March for Babies. It's a great change because it makes it very clear exactly who we are walking for -- all babies. It′s very exciting to be a part of the “first” March for Babies!
Although the name of this signature event changed, the mission did not. The March of Dimes champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.
Our team has joined thousands of compassionate teams across the country that support March for Babies. Won′t you please help us in this worthy cause? Join us in the walk that helps all moms and babies.
Our team this year is trying to exceed the amount collected last year, by holding an Appetizer Challenge in our office builiding. We have invited all in the building as well as others around campus to participate either as a judge and or contestant or both. The cost is five dollars for each entry, enter as many appetizers as you like or you can judge for five dollars as well, all MONEY RAISED goes to the March of Dimes. If anyone who reads this would like to participate or even to just donate, please feel free, we welcome any amount and any participation.
Our Appetizer Challenge was a success, we raised almost 300 hundred dollars, had a lot of fun and enjoyed some really tasy appetizers. Our guest of honor, was UC football player Haruki Nakamura, who is on his way to the NFL this year, good luck to him.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And they will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
