Well, we made it! The Orvis family finished our 13th Walk event for the March of Dimes! We had a beautifully sunny Walk day in Danbury, and the temperature was just wee bit too warm for our companion Joch. Best of all, it was dry.
Joch took turns dragging each of us along the course. Joch was a joy to have along, again. He sure got loads of attention and affection from the other walkers, particularly the children along the way. We were thankful that the boys from Troop 42′s trying to earn their Hiking Merit Badge were able to join us again, along with our Troop Leader, Tom Marino. Their company and support were most welcome.
Last year, we raised several thousand dollars after the Walk was over. Fortunately, IT′S NOT TOO LATE TO GIVE IF YOU′D LIKE TO SUPPORT OUR CAUSE! Donations have been coming in all this week, and can still be accepted for the next week or two to count towards our final numbers with the March of Dimes. Hopefully we can exceed our family goal of $6,000 with room to spare.
If you haven′t already done so, and would still like to, you may make a donation via credit card, PayPal, or pledge a cash/check donation (Just indicate your pledge and mail me a check made out to the March of Dimes at your earliest convenience.)
And, if your company has a matching program, you can make your donation twice as nice! Check out this web site for more details. We received over $600 in matching funds so far this year. It′s great that so many employers support their employees with matching gift programs!
If you have questions please email me at PVOrvis@Earthlink.net, call me at 203-312-0188, or write to me at 14 Windward Drive, New Fairfield, CT 06812.
To those of you who have donated already, we can′t thank you enough. It′s so rewarding to know that so many friends and family rally behind our efforts year in and year out. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We′ve been fortunate to be able to raise so much for the March of Dimes, and couldn′t have done so without support from friends like you.
Love, hugs & kisses,
PV
